N.E.W. Dirt was formed prior to the start of the
1984 racing season and is the organization responsible for re-opening the facility.
Seymour Speedway operated from 1966 to 1977 as a half-mile clay oval. The raceway was then
closed until the start of the 1982 season when N.E.W. Dirt took over operation of the
track in 1984 and began to create a successful racing program.

At the end of the 1987 season the club and the fair
board started a reconstruction process. Due to the location of some major electrical lines
it was decided to reshape the racetrack and when the 1988 season began the new tri-oval
was in place. The third-mile track has unique shape that provides some very close racing.
The Tri-Oval configuration would be in place until the end of the 2004 season when another
major overhaul began.

The 2005 Season brought
not only a new configuration to the track but a new name as
well. The Seymour Tri-Oval changed its name to Seymour Speedway
after the Tri-Oval was removed in favor of an oval track. This
change along with the addition of new lights both helped to
improve the program. The second season on the new 1/3 mile oval
provided the backdrop for the 2006 race season. The improved
track conditions as the new clay settled in made for an exciting
race season with record car counts.

Since the 1988 season crowds and car counts have
continued to climb and the club has become one of the more successful organizations in the
state of Wisconsin. Pete Parker the two-time WISSOTA National Late Model champion competes
weekly at the racetrack and has won 6 titles at the raceway over the years. The speedway
is also known for its extremely competitive Street Stock class and high car counts
in the IMCA Modified and IMCA Stock Car divisions.
